Hello Meinhard,
Thank you for your feedback!
All bikes have a bit rotation of forks when stopping with high speed, . I made the video just for you to be able to see that the tire does not touch the skid plate. I have about 15000 kms on HONDA CRF1000 with BUMOT skid plate and have no any issues.
As you know very important thing is suspension when riding motorcycle.
The fact is motorcycles are made to suit a particular size rider, and when you're a different size to whoever ,you need to make upgrades of suspension. It's normal. So it appears Honda made the Africa Twin to suit a rider of about 85kg in weight.
I am 94 kgs
We have put in new heavier springs in the rear and totally revalved the unit.
NITRON TVT Pro Cartridge kit is a best quality to suit the rider and damping rates to match.
At the front the original set up does not allow virtually any preload to be added to the springs, despite being adjustable ,so In front we upgraded with new NITRON R3 Shock + HPA.
Here Stephen and Dave explained their experience with original suspension : https://www.aussieheartland.co…016/11/20/Ah-The-Suspense
